Welcome to Eau Claire Doula Services. I would like to use this first post to introduce myself and my vision for ECDS.
Born and raised in Minnesota, I have never lived out of State until 2019. Due to unforeseen life circumstances I found myself at a cross roads that brought me to Eau Claire to start over. In preparation for the big move I started an online business helping other small businesses with marketing (YOMA by Amanda) that would give me the flexibility to work from home in addition to starting up my doula practice once settled here in EC.
My Passion & Vision as a Doula
If you would have asked me 6 years ago what a doula was I would have given you a funny look. A what? DOULA. A doula is a non medical support person. There are many types of doulas from birth to death. I provide fertility, birth, sibling and postpartum doula services (we will cover all the different types at another time). About 6 years ago I was at a crossroads in my life as to what I wanted to do.
With an extensive background in child care and health care, neither career of teaching or nursing felt right. When I discovered what a doula was, I instantly became passionate about women´s health rights. Many women and families do not understand what they do not know. As a doula it is my job to help them find the answers to their questions in a professional, unbiased and evidence based way.
To me, it does not matter if you are expecting your first child or your 10th. I treat every family the same – dignity and respect. Every pregnancy, baby and family are different and therefore have different needs that I tailor to. It presents an opportunity to learn something knew with each client – something I absolutely love about this job!
My Vision For Eau Claire and Eau Claire Doula Services is to work with local individuals and families to provide the best experience possible from pregnancy through the postpartum period. I want to provide my clients with the best support possible and help them find confidence in this new dynamic of parenthood.
If you or someone you know is in need of support please reach out. I am happy to help in anyway possible.
Thank you for reading and welcoming me into this wonderful community!
